Chicago- New York City, 3rd of April 2010

Chicago- New York, 3rd of April 2010

The best flight and trip of my life so far!
I'm writing after I came back already, so not from the Sky this time, as I was enjoying every moment of this flight and trip to New York City!
My husband and I booked a flight with American Airlines: when they give you a real flight and not an American Eagle one, the all flight experience can be pleasant actually!
The AA airplane in fact has 2 seats on the left and 3 on the right so my husband and I didn't have anyone next to us and the seats were quite spacious and comfortable.
You can book your seats well in advance and you don't have to pay for them (yet!).
All went well and it was actually fun to see how fast I became through Security and how slow my husband was, comparing to me, particularly with his shoes! I made fun of him, telling him that if he ever flies from Midway airport he should not use to the “expert travelers” lane, but will need to go with the slow one.

The flight from Chicago is very short: only a couple of hours.
We flew to La Guardia, and from now on I'll always do that when I go to New York City. Not only it is the closest Airport to Manhattan, but also the gorgeous view you have from the airplane feels like a true dream!
You can see very close the all Manhattan from the Sky, including the Statue of Liberty!
The airplane lands almost on the water: you realize that you are landing at the airport, only once the aircraft wheels have touched the Airport land already.

It goes without saying that I had the best “cosmopolitan drink” in NY (at the “Dream Hotel”), I had the best pizza of my life at Lombardi pizzeria, recommended by my great friends Marica and Jerry (and if an Italian says that...), enjoyed the very best park in the World: Central Park (during Easter with 28C!) Listened to some great Jazz right there at the Park, had some rose' and lovely French cheeses, danced salsa and seen some amazing local salsa dancers!
Oh well, how small Chicago can look right now comparing to New York City! Americans can be very elegant and pretty...the ones that live in Manhattan, they might be a bit tough (you might find them sometimes even rude) but I guess they have to be this way over there since they have to deal with all kinds of foreigners!
Just 1 advice when you go there: if you have a weak heart don't ride a taxi! The cab drivers are the craziest in the all world...not sure if they learnt to drive this way in Rome, but you feel like you are going to have an accident every minute of your ride!

London is still number 1, but New York is New York! Looking forward to going back there again!
